In my practice I consider the essence of the plant with its ingredients, modes of action and forms of application appropriate to the symptom and holistic view.<\/p>\n
What we wear as hair on our head the plants put it into the earth as roots. Plants are grounded and connected to Mother Earth, just as we are spiritualized with Heaven.<\/p>\n
The essence of plants and their signature doctrine shows differentiated effects on body systems and organs. For example, plants containing sulfur (garlic and onions) have a cleansing effect and plants containing phosphorus (e.g. burdock) have a draining effect.<\/p>\n
Plants act on the body by means of many ingredients, such as: alkaloids – anthocyanins – anthraquinones – bitter substances – cardiac glycosides – coumarins – silicic acid – flavonoids – glucosinolates – minerals – mucilages – phenols – saponins – tannins – vitamins – essential oils and others.<\/p>\n
